Asherisms

Asher has figured out how to blow bubbles!

At the moment, if you ask Asher "What does a frog say?" His response is to wave his arms in the air and say (in a 21 month old's garbled way) "lah dee dah dee dah." I need to get this on video before we teach him what a frog really says!

Asher opened a drawer in the kitchen and took out the two boxes of ziploc bags- snack sized and sandwich sized. He took all the bags out and put them on the couch, and put the empty boxes in the rubbish.

I had a conversation with Asher today- a real conversation. Asher likes to ask me to make things out of playdoh. Our conversation went like this:
Asher: A pwane! Pwane! Peez! (A plane, plane, please)
Me: You want me to make a plane.
Asher: lotsofrandomsyllables a Car! Car! Peez!
Me; Okay, you want me to make a car.
Asher: lotsofrandomsyllables a Bush!
Me: A bus?
Asher: Peez! Pwane! Brrrrm brrrm (hand gestures like a plane)
And so I make Asher a plane.

I love Asher's conversations. He tells us about so many things. If we call out to him from another room, he will reply with a paragraph. We have no idea what he's saying about half of the time! We can have a whole conversation with him without knowing what he's saying. He's going to catch on eventually.

Asher sees fish, moons, stars, and other shapes everywhere. He knows the letters A, S, O, and T. Sometimes E. He sucks things up like a sponge and when we think he wasn't paying attention, he pops out with things like "Issa post!" (Its a post... a lamp post).

Which reminds me, his first sentence was "Wazza boo-bum?" Which is "Where's the balloon?" Followed by "Izza moo" which is "Its a moo" otherwise known as a cow. And he hasn't stopped since.

He's eating like a champion, and likes a knife, fork and spoon at his place at the table. He uses them, too! He makes sure everything goes back in their proper places on the place setting placemat we made.

He loves the trampoline and swing at playgroup.

I am fairly certain today he said "Its a blue" about something blue, and Dave reckons Asher called a shampoo bottle "white" in the shower today. Surely not?

New words today: seaweed, puddle. Still can't get him to say milk.
